Product Overview

We've tooled up our own custom M5 screws specifically made for mounting ski bindings to swap plates or inserts.   The head is tapered and fits like a flathead screw, but with a smaller diameter head so that they fit bindings which require a smaller diameter clearance.  The underside of the head has locking serrations to help ensure that the screw doesn't back out over time.  High quality stainless steel.  For use with a Pozi #3 Phillips head screwdriver.  Flat head screw lengths are measured over all length of the screw (the length of screw including the thread and head).

It is very important to maximize the number of threads engaged in an insert or a swap plate, so be sure to measure carefully.  Inserts can accommodate from 3mm min to 6mm max of thread engagement.  We like to target 4mm of thread engagement.  Do not exceed the min/max numbers for any reason - you will not get a secure mount.  These screws fit exactly like Allen head flatheads in terms of length.

With great pride, we introduce our latest addition: custom-machined 8mm head screws. Moving forward, we will discontinue the practice of grinding screws on demand. This transition enables us to expedite order fulfillment, ensuring enhanced customer satisfaction through prompt service. This upgrade guarantees screws with an improved finish and more precise tolerances. You'll find these screws on their dedicated product page, accessible here.

    Best for Insert Repair

Posted by wildman on 15th Feb 2024

When using the inserts these are the ONLY screws to use - they have the proper angle and head diameter. regular machine screws have a much smaller head diameter and the angle is not correct. Also, they are pozidrive (like the oem screws) so same tools. Phillips do not work properly with pozidrive.

Posi head and locking serrations = perfect spec for the application. Great customer service: wrong length originally shipped, promptly corrected upon notice.

ski reps rejoice. lighten your load.

If you represent or serve as an influencer for a ski company and you have a lot of skis in your quiver, the Binding Freedom system is amazing and worth the extra cost and effort to install in the skis you really love and want to keep for many years. I often sell off a fair amount of the skis I rep but the ones I really enjoy get inserts for Marker Griffon bindings. I do also have a few touring skis that I can swap my Marker tech bindings between if work conditions require different kinds of skiing for different tasks. #ProRepProblems #chooseAjobyoulove #andyoullneverwork #patrol

Very high-quality screws. It has an anti-loose grip at the screw head contact surface and has never come loose.

    PERFECT SYSTEM

Major players in the ski industry should adopt this system so you can swap a pair of bindings between multiple skis. Definitely more bomber connection then tradition screws and works great!

    Useful an simple

Posted by Chris on 2nd Feb 2019

I have installed Binding Freedom inserts in 12 pairs of skis in the last 4 years, and have nothing but good things to say about them. Swapping bindings is easy for most bindings, and the stay on top of patterns for new equipment. The guys that design this stuff answer my questions directly and honestly. I could not be happier with them and what they do.

Great Screws wish they still had smallhead

Posted by Ian G Swope on 6th Apr 2018

I needed screws for a binding with small heads so I'm going to have to grind the heads down.
