HeliCoils + Tools

Helicoil inserts are a great way to repair stripped or damaged standard mounts.  They are also great for beefing up a mount if you have had problems with binding screws ripping out.  These inserts should not be used for swapping bindings between skis.  The inserts are an open design unlike the Binding Freedom inserts that are completely sealed.  Swapping with these would easily allow for moisture to enter the core of the ski causing damage to the core.  A permanent sealed mount will allow you to fix and replace damage threads and re-use the hole location.  These inserts work with standard alpine mounting screws.
